Empowering Farmers Through Collective Strength

ARTS has been dedicated to uplifting small and marginal farmers across Andhra Pradesh. Through Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), we bring together farmers to address key challenges in agriculture, enhance productivity, and ensure they receive fair pricing. Our FPOs empower farmers to thrive by working collectively, driving sustainable growth, and fostering economic resilience in rural areas.

Why FPOs?

FPOs enable farmers to benefit from the power of collective action:

  • Economies of Scale: Farmers benefit from collective buying power, leading to cost savings and efficiency.
  • Ownership and Empowerment: Farmers are shareholders actively involved in decision-making and profit-sharing.
  • Direct Market Access: FPOs provide direct links to markets, ensuring farmers earn fair prices without the need for intermediaries.

Our Approach

Comprehensive Support Across the Value Chain

ARTS offers end-to-end support to FPOs, addressing every stage of the agricultural process:

Mobilizing Farmers

Organizing farmers into FPOs builds community ownership, strengthening shared goals and collaboration.

Affordable Input Services

By securing essential inputs like seeds and fertilizers from trusted suppliers, farmers reduce production costs and improve crop quality.

Aggregation for Better Bargaining

Aggregating produce allows farmers to leverage stronger market positions, stabilize income, and secure reliable pricing.

Value Addition

Processing units for turmeric, millets, and cold-pressed oils enhance product value, boosting farmer income

Infrastructure Development

Accessible collection centers and storage facilities reduce spoilage, supporting safe storage and higher-quality products.

Credit Linkages for Financial Access

Through credit support, farmers gain access to resources for equipment and improved farming methods, fostering long-term sustainability.

Rural Enterprise: Expanding Economic Opportunities:

Our Rural Enterprise initiatives complement the FPOs by supporting income diversification and creating sustainable growth beyond agriculture.

  • Handloom Enterprise Development: The Sikkolu Weavers Producer Company supports local weavers with training and market access, strengthening traditional handloom crafts
  • Agro-Processing Units: Processing units for local crops like turmeric and millets create sustainable income for farmers and self-help groups, adding value to regional produce.
  • Non-Agricultural Ventures: Empowering women to produce items like hill brooms and local jams opens new economic avenues for self-sufficiency.
  • Digital Tools and E-Commerce: By training rural entrepreneurs in digital sales and marketing, we help them reach broader audiences and unlock new markets for their products.
