At ARTS, we believe in fostering an environment where women can thrive and drive the economic and social transformation of their communities. Our women empowerment initiatives are designed to support, uplift, and create sustained opportunities for women in rural India.
Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are pivotal in empowering women by encouraging savings and providing access to microfinance. Through our SHG programs, we aim to:
- Foster financial independence for women.
- Provide training in financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
- Enable women to start and expand small businesses.
Livelihood Initiatives
We focus on diversifying livelihood options to ensure sustainable income for women. Our livelihood initiatives include:
- Poultry Farming: Encouraging women to engage in poultry farming to generate reliable income.
- Livestock Management: Training in the care and management of livestock for improved productivity.
- Desi Poultry: Promoting local poultry practices that are both sustainable and profitable.
- Dairy Units: Supporting women to establish and run small dairy units.
- Turmeric Production: Training in turmeric cultivation and the establishment of turmeric processing units.
- Value-Added Products: Facilitating the production and marketing of value-added products, like spices and handmade goods, to boost incomes.
Supporting Landless and Widow Women
We work closely with widow and landless women by adopting waste lands and transforming them into productive agricultural spaces:
- Leased Lands: Arranging the lease of waste lands for cultivation.
- Training and Support: Providing necessary training and resources to improve land productivity.
- Cultivation Support: Assisting in the cultivation of crops that ensure sustainable income.
Strengthening Weavers
Craftsmanship is a source of pride and livelihood for many rural women, but it comes with its challenges. We are dedicated to:
- Raising awareness about eye health.
- Providing regular eye check-ups and access to corrective measures.
- Offering support and resources to ensure that the art of weaving continues to thrive without compromising health.
