Education and Capacity Building

Building Brighter Futures, One Community at a Time

At ARTS, we believe that education unlocks opportunities, and capacity building empowers communities for sustainable progress. For over 25 years, we’ve been making a difference in the tribal regions of Andhra Pradesh, ensuring access to quality education and essential skills even in the most remote villages. Our efforts have reached over 50,000 children in 200 villages, helping them dream big, learn freely, and build brighter futures.

Transforming Education and Empowering Through Capacity Building

We adopt a dual approach to development:

  • Education: Providing quality education access for children and youth, particularly in remote tribal areas, fostering welcoming learning environments to help students reach their potential.
  • Capacity Building: Equipping communities with skills and knowledge to tackle challenges, advocate for rights, and build sustainable livelihoods through training, leadership development, and support for entrepreneurs.

Education: Creating Pathways to Opportunity

Childline Sub-Center (Helpline 1098): Offers 24/7 support for at-risk children, rescuing many and helping them return to school.
School Revitalization: Supplies learning materials and trains teachers, reducing dropout rates by 25% in Kurupam Mandal.
Community Education Campaigns: Conducts door-to-door outreach and parent workshops to promote education, particularly for girls, and dismantle barriers village by village.

Capacity Building: Equipping Communities for Success

  • Youth Leadership Training: We’ve trained 250+ tribal youth as community leaders, helping families access their rights and navigate government schemes.
  • Women Entrepreneurship Programs: Initiatives like My Pad My Right empower women to produce and sell sanitary napkins, along with other value-added activities. This has boosted incomes and created resilient communities.
  • Supporting Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs): We provide training in governance and market access to 15 FPOs, helping farmers secure better incomes and build sustainable enterprises.

Resilience and Adaptation: Learning Through Challenges

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted lives, we adapted quickly to ensure continued support for our communities:

  • Remote Learning: We distributed study materials and set up study groups to keep education accessible.
  • Health & Nutrition Support: We provided food packages and health awareness sessions to keep families safe and focused on their goals.
  • Strengthening Community Networks: Collaborating with local leaders ensured vital resources reached those most in need.
